The rehabilitation of Sencit Liberty Apartments is the successful modernization of 153 units of affordable housing across three buildings in Atlantic City, improving financial performance, energy efficiency, and livability.

All three properties were repositioned as multifamily housing in prior years and include the historic Liberty Apartments, originally built in 1924, serving as a hotel until its conversion into 76 units; Schoolhouse Apartments, formerly the Illinois Avenue School, built in 1906 and later adapted into 66 units; and Disston Apartments, initially operating as a YMCA, subsequently converted into 20 units.

Upgrades, with various levels of renovation throughout the scattered site, include new HVAC systems, canopy and façade repair, new window security screens, the installation of high-efficiency gas-fired condensing boilers, and the repointing, cleaning, and painting of exterior masonry.

Designed to meet Enterprise Green Communities standards, each property is equipped with Energy Star appliances, new plumbing, and gas-fired water heaters with 95% efficiency, low-flow toilets, and LED lighting.
