Located in Everett’s Fermentation District, a neighborhood steeped in the industrial character of local breweries and the Teddy Peanut Butter company.
Artemas is a nearly 600,000-square-foot, 6-story midrise multifamily community that draws its design identity directly from its surroundings.
The 396-unit building rises from a site once occupied by a shipping container field, a history honored through two repurposed containers integrated into the project’s ground-level corner plaza and third-floor cyber deck courtyard. With 59 affordable units and 1,800 square feet of street-level retail, Artemas contributes meaningfully to the continued transformation of the City of Everett.
The building’s architecture is defined by an unconventional geometry that deliberately limits right angles. Varying depths in both the building massing and facade wall assemblies cast a constantly shifting pattern of shadows and angles across the exterior, giving Artemas a sculptural presence that changes with the light. Inside, the design team prioritized intuitive circulation across the building’s expansive amenity program.
Maintained sightlines between spaces on floors one through three, strategically positioned grand staircases and an indoor/outdoor fireplace all work together to draw residents through the building naturally, from the fitness center and pool deck to the club and pub room, work-from-home spaces, and multiple courtyards.
Studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments range from 486 to 1,486 square feet and are finished with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and vinyl wood flooring, with select units offering balconies and walk-in closets. Artemas reflects a commitment to design-forward residential communities that are deeply connected to their neighborhoods, with convenient access to downtown Boston, Medford, and Revere Beach, and just a short walk from the parks and trails along the Malden River, Northern Strand Community Bike Trail, and Wellington MBTA Orange Line station.
